On 14th December, 2014, Australian Bangladesh Community, Campbelltown has organized a community gathering to observe “Shaheed Buddhijibi Dibosh” (Day of the Martyred Intellectuals: 14th December), pay tribute to three million martyrs and celebrate “Bijoy Dibosh” (Victory Day of Bangladesh: 16th of December) at Bardia, NSW 2565.
At the beginning of the program, everybody paid tribute to all the Bangladeshi intellectuals who were captured and brutally killed in 1971 by maintaining one minute silence. Kids were main focus of the program. Through their speeches, poems and songs, all young participants remembered those intellectuals and freedom fighters who sacrificed their life to bring a new nation in 1971.
Campbell town City Councillor, Anoulack Chanthivong attended in the program and delivered his valuable speech about 1971 and Bangladesh.
In the second session, kids from various organisation performed their cultural activities (Dancing, recitation, singing to celebrate the 44th National Victory Day of Bangladesh. Second, session, little renowned celebrity performed to show their respect to the freedom fighters, intellectuals and to Bangladesh. Combination of red and green was noticeable. At the end, various Bangladeshi foods were served to all. It was a great event to observed “Shaheed Buddhijibi Dibosh” (“Day of the Martyred Intellectuals”) and celebrate by Bangladeshi community.
